Obituary: Winifred Slade

Winifred Louise Slade, 94, longtime resident of Carson City, died July 11, 2003, in Reno. She was born Sept. 18, 1908, in San Francisco.

Mrs. Slade was a member of the Rainbow Rebekah Lodge No. 97 in Stockton, Calif.; Past Noble Grands Association, Rainbow Rebekah Lode of Stockton; American Legion Auxiliary of Carson City; and World War I Veterans Auxiliary of Carson City. She was a longtime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City.

Among her survivors are her niece, Pat McEwen of Reno; great-grand nephews Paul McEwen of Reno and Donald McEwen Jr. of Centreville, Va.; great-grand niece, Jackie Reilly of Reno; sister-in-law, Emma Slade of Carson City; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A funeral service was Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Burial was at Long Mountain Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
