A memorial service for Velva Lea Comley, 72, a Gardnerville resident for the past 22 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Mrs. Comley died July 24, 2003, at home. She was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Colorado to Charles Wayne and Sadie Lavera Schofield Ewing.
Before moving to Gardnerville she lived in Southern California.
Mrs. Comley was a legal secretary for many years. She was a member of the National Arabian Horse Association.
Among her survivors are her husband, Charles of Gardnerville; and sons Steven Desmond of Gardnerville, Douglas Comstock of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Brian Slemons of Honolulu.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada.
