Obituary: Betty E. Rich

A funeral for Betty E. Rich, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Walton's.

Mrs. Rich died May 31, 2003 in Carson City. She was born Feb. 24, 1921 in Stockton, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California from 1956-88 and in Quincy, Calif., for 11 years.

Mrs. Rich worked in the real estate industry for 30 years, rising to the position of escrow officer. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a musician, serving as church organist and soloist. She also enjoyed gourmet cooking and entertaining others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Barney."

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan L. and Joan, and daughter, Pamela R. France, all of Carson City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Entombment will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
