A memorial service for Judson Bernard Vance, 80, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Carson City.
Mr. Vance died May 31, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 27, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Delbert Knight and Gertrude Alma Vance.
Mr. Vance worked for Chrysler Corp. for 20 years and for the Carnation Milk Co., retiring in 1985. He was a Mason and a Presbyterian. He sang bass with various barbershop choruses and sang in many church choirs.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife, Lucille, of Minden; daughters, Cheryl Higuera, of San Bruno, Calif., and Barbara Clark, of Minden; son-in-law, Randy Clark; son, Douglas, of Fairfield, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Janet Vance; granddaughters, Carrie Higuera, Jennifer Higuera, Jessica David, Katie Clark, Amanda Vance and Lauren Vance; grandson-in-law Jordan David and a sister, Bea Gilliam.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
