Yesterday John E. Adams, bookkeeper for Knapp & Laws, Hawthorne, was married to Miss Lillie Miller of Hawthorne. They arrived in this city by last evening's express and proceeded to Genoa.

The automobile for use between Ely and Cherry Creek has been shipped from the factory and is expected to be running over the route within a few days.

Sidney B. Osborn, who was yesterday nominated by President Roosevelt to be collector of internal revenue in the district of Arizona, is a cousin of Kenneth Buck of Carson City.
50 YEARS AGO
Hunters Lodge was sold by George Gessler to Jerry Taksley of Denver. The sale included the building owned by Ken Johnson. Gessler, who opens his restaurant and bar April 1, 1952, plans to devote full time to Sky-Vue Drive-In theater of which he and Cecil Perrin are owners. Johnson has owned the lodge many years, including the original two-story building which burned down a few years ago.

Ken Vecchiarelli won first place in the annual house plan drawing contest sponsored by the Builders Association of Western Nevada. He will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the school of his choice. Diane Stephens of Gardnerville finished second for $600, and Dawn Wood of Carson City and Heather Huggans of Gardnerville tied for third.

Edith Milo shows letters she received from friends and former students. The 95-year-old plans to fly to New York for a birthday reception with friends she hasn't seen for years.
