The Carson Sharks 10-and-under softball team won three of five games to capture second-place in the Northern Sierra Regional Tournament held over the weekend at Edmonds Sports Complex.
For the Sharks, it was their second runner-up finish in as many weeks. They also reached the finals of a tournament in Reno the week before.
They lost in the finals on Sunday to the Sparks all-stars, 11-5. Earlier in the day, the Sharks defeated Lassen 9-5 in the semifinals behind the complete game pitching of Allison Vondrak and they defeated the Reno Predators 12-4.
The Sharks split two games on Saturday, beating the Predators 10-1 and losing to Lassen 6-3.
Jenna Kochamp led the team offensively for the weekend as she hit .800. Vondrak hit for a .515 average whiled Madison Gilbert hit .510 and played solid defense at first base, while Casey Withrow and Natasha Wells hit .500.
