After allegedly failing to comply with conditions imposed in drug court, the daughter of Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong remained in custody Tuesday at the Carson City Jail.

Kendra Furlong, 23, is being held without bail. She is expected to begin a drug treatment program in Reno this week.

Furlong was arrested by Tri-Net Drug Task Force officers Jan. 21 after they allegedly found a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her Roop Street apartment.

Furlong said his daughter's case was sent to drug court -- an alternative program in which drug abusers can begin to work on fighting their addiction instead of serving jail time -- where she agreed to attend counseling and not use drugs, among other conditions. The charges against her are felony possession of meth and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

Furlong said a warrant was issued because his daughter wasn't attending the required counseling.
