120 YEARS AGO

Yesterday morning. jurors in the case of Mrs. Noonan vs. the Savages were discharged, as they were unable to agree. They had been locked up all night and were obliged to sleep on the floor without mattresses. The jury stood 9 to 3 for the plaintiff. Hawthorne is said to be supplied with all the "sports" she can feed and clothe.

100 YEARS AGO

It is expected the automobile line between Wells and Ely will have a machine capable of carrying six passengers, baggage and express and travel at a maximum speed of 35 mph.

70 YEARS AGO

Price of gasoline in Carson has been reduced 1 cent per gallon, selling now for 24 cents. This follows a drop of 1 1/2 cents in Reno.

50 YEARS AGO

Gov. Charles Russell has signed SB155, appropriating $35,000 as the state's share toward construction of a new Carson City firehouse (the building behind the old courthouse).

20 YEARS AGO

Jason Marshal, 9, received very special birthday wishes at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. It has become a near second home for Jason, who has cystic fibrosis, a severe crippling disease. The party was thrown by Carson-Tahoe staff members. He is the son of Jean and Philip Marshall of Carson City.

10 YEARS AGO

Young wrestlers from Carson City's Wrestling Association grappled with the state's best, placing second in the 1993 state freestyle Greco wrestling tournament at Reno High School. Out of 600 wrestlers, Carson earned two first-place finishes, Nick Shine wrestling in age 7-8 75-pound division and Douglas Brooks in age 11-12 75-pound division.
