Oh senior project, how we love you,
But you drive us crazy, look what you do.
You take many hours of work during our busy senior year,
Yet when the project is done we'll have a reason to cheer.
It's not all that bad, maybe at first we complained,
But because of you, look at the opportunities we've gained:
Drummers, pianists and guitarists, oh my,
Future chefs are learning to fry.
Filmmakers, authors, and artists alike,
One kid even learned how to fix his own bike.
And tutors and coaches are helping the needy,
As for digital portfolios? Just thank Mr. Reedy.
The tournaments and contests are all in full swing,
The kids are leaving as the advisory bell rings.
But back to the projects, everyone's doing their best,
At least it doesn't include a proficiency test!
While mechanics learn to fix up their cars,
Astronomers are busy studying the stars.
One guy is trying to pass new legislation,
The rest of us are anxious for summer vacation.
Working with children is a popular choice,
Along with fund-raising and improving one's voice.
My friend wrote a paper on the effects of tanning,
Another is busy with hours of planning
A reminder of why you should not drink and drive,
Some others in dance class are learning to jive.
From dabbling in makeup to styling hair,
Plenty of students are showing their flair.
Models are busy strutting their stuff,
The wrestlers and boxers are still looking tough.
One girl is learning how to be safe with a gun,
Everyone's going to be glad when this is all done.
When I first looked at my assignment I thought it was scary,
But now I'm doing something great, thank you Barry and Teri.
Congratulations to the seniors of 2003,
From your fellow senior Jessica, that's me!
