The Dayton High baseball team finished its season with a winning record after sweeping Yerington 13-0 and 11-0 on Saturday.
Dayton (14-12, 7-9 in the Northern 3A) fell short of qualifying for the playoffs. In the opener, Casey Skog, Andrew Rice, Matt Bowman, Tim Torres, Danny Hopper and Adam Diament all had two hits.
Bowman and Hopper each hit two-run home runs. Rice was the winning pitcher.
In the nightcap, Diament pitched a two-hit shutout, allowing two singles, as he struck out four and walked one in the game that was called after five innings. Skog, Andy Salazar, Zane Walker and Diament all had two hits for Dayton.
