The Nevada Wonders of the Premier Development League (PDL) dropped two games to Utah opponents this weekend.

Nevada lost to the BYU Cougars 3-0 at BYU South Field on Friday night in Provo, Utah. It also lost to the Utah Blitzz, a Pro Select League team, 6-0 Saturday evening at a game played at the Wendover Soccer Complex in Wendover, Nev. The Pro Select League is the United States' third level of professional soccer.

Against BYU (1-0), Nevada was outshot 29-5. The Cougars, like the Wonders, are new to the PDL. They led 1-0 at halftime after a goal in the 21st minute, then added a pair goals in the second half in the convincing win.

Nevada (0-4) was simply overmatched in Saturday's game against the Blitzz, the two-time defending Western Conference champions. Utah (3-1-1) opened the scoring early in the game, and then poured it on after that.

In their four games this season, the Wonders have been outscored 17-1 and were outshot 62-12 going into the game against the Blitzz, who won the 2001 D-3 National Championship.

Nevada plays its first ever home game next Saturday night against the Orange County Blue Star under the lights at the Carson High soccer field.
