A graveside service for DeWitt E. Harriman, 89, a Carson City resident, will be at 10 a.m. May 10 at Murphys Catholic Cemetery in Murphys, Calif.
Mr. Harriman died April 27, 2003, at his daughter's home in Sacramento. He was born March 25, 1914, in Grand Island, Neb.
He lived in Arnold, Calif., before moving to Carson City.
Mr. Harriman retired as a carpenter for McClellan Air Force Base. He loved hunting, fishing and watching the 49ers play football.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, son Richard and granddaughter Mindi.
Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and John Doig of Arnold, Susan and Buddy Apfel of Carson City and Karen and Matt Edd of West Sacramento; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Angels Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
