Carson High graduate and current Arizona Diamondback Matt Williams has teamed up with a local medical educator to promote a new therapy for sports injury management.

As Williams is traveling across the country during the baseball season, he will be joined in selected cities by Carson City's Rick Martin as they present seminars on the use of a new therapy for sports injury care.

Williams has agreed to be the national spokesman for SportLaser, the distributor of a newly FDA approved device and therapy for treatment of inflammatory conditions. Williams has been using the therapy for some time to improve recovery from athletic injury and maintain a higher level of performance.

Martin, the co-director of science for SportLaser, will co-host informational seminars with Williams and provide the scientific and medical presentations at the events. At each seminar, athletes, trainers, therapists and clincicians will hear Williams talk about how the therapy has helped him and Martin will discuss how the device promotes healing and relief.

The first of these seminars is scheduled for June 12 in Kansas City when the Diamondbacks will be playing the Royals. For more information, call Martin, (775) 884-1615.
