Obituary: Ernie Rabe

A funeral for Ernie Rabe, 81, a Carson City native, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Viewing will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Walton's.

Mr. Rabe died May 6, 2003. He was born Oct. 10, 1921, at Stewart.

After graduating from Carson High School, he joined the U.S. Marines and served from 1942-46. After leaving the service, he stayed in North Carolina, where he met and married Bea Ingram. They moved back to Nevada.

Mr. Rabe worked for Sierra Pacific Power Co. from 1949, until his retirement in 1984.

He loved to camp, hunt, and fish. In his retirement years, he enjoyed his family and going to lunch daily at the Carson Senior Citizens Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea on April 3, 2003; and daughter and son-in-law Jane and Bob Dineen.

Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law Hazel and Neal Davies and Noranne and Delbert Sparks; and grandchildren Jason, Dawn and Andrew Davies and Damon and Amanda Sparks.
