The Telegraph Square Group will host its first Spring Farmers' Market today from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
There will be about 20 vendors on Telegraph Street between Carson and Curry streets, said Doreen Mack, owner of Lofty Expressions and group spokeswoman.
"It's not a huge market, but it's a fun market," Mack said.
Vendors will offer arts, crafts, food and more, she said.
Live acoustic guitar will be provided throughout the day by local strummer Gregory Ortiz, known for playing Java Joe's and Comma Coffee.
"Last year we had a real good response," said Doug Bocskor, co-owner of Mo & Sluggo's Bar and Grill on Telegraph Square.
"We're just trying to encourage enthusiasm in downtown Carson City."
The street will be blocked off to cars starting at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Bocskor said. John Davis from Java Joe's coffee shop, another participating business, will be helping the city put up the blockades on either end of the block.
The market is scheduled to run every Saturday through until the June 7.
