A memorial service for Allan Dale Engleman, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 28 years, will be at noon Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Carson City.
Mr. Engleman died May 18, 2003, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Reno. He was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Diego, Calif.
Mr. Engleman was a chief boatswain and locksmith for the U.S. Navy, serving from May 18, 1948, to Dec. 26, 1968, and then worked for the Military Sea Lift Command.
Among his survivors are his wife, Rosalin; sons Allan of Fallon and Aaron of Elko; daughter, Elaine Lauger, of San Diego; four granddaughters; and one grandson.
He will be buried at sea.
The Neptune Society is in charge of arrangements.
