A memorial Mass for Harry David Hughes, 74, a Minden resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Mr. Hughes died Nov. 12, 2003, in Reno.
He was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Harry David and Virginia A. Weber Hughes.
He married Joyce Graham in 1949.
After several career changes, Mr. Hughes worked at Central Solvents and Chemicals' ChemCentral, for 30 years as its general manager before retiring. He enjoyed camping in his motor home, fishing and golf. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Gall Catholic Church.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal on Guam in the mid- 1940s.
Among his survivors are his wife of 54 years of Minden; sons and daughters-in-laws Michael and Susanne of Redmond, Wash., Stephen and Kristine of Hayward, Calif., and Gregory and Sandra of South Lake Tahoe; daughter, Theresa Wright of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Cremation will be in Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
