Charles C. Montgomery, 62, a Dayton resident for the past four years, died Nov. 22, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital due to complications from cancer surgery.

No services are scheduled.

Mr. Montgomery was born March 24, 1941, in Chicago to Doris Moreau. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Goodgome.

Prior to living in Dayton, he lived in Rolling Hills Estates in Southern California.

Mr. Montgomery belonged to the Rotary in Gardena, Calif., holding all positions including president; and the Sunset Rotary in Carson City. He was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was president of the Gardena Chamber of Commerce and was active in its Boys and Girls Club.

He married Nita Pollock in Las Vegas on Nov. 11, 1989.

Mr. Montgomery was a co-owner of Aerospace Plating. He served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed people, animals and birds.

Among his survivors are his wife, Nita; stepson, Darren Moss and his wife, Alisha; and grandson Bryan Moss, all of Dayton.

Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
