A reception for Marjorie D. Robertson, 76, a Carson City resident for the past 36 years, will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the family home, 4810 Bryce Drive.
Mrs. Robertson died Sept. 25, 2003, at home. She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Wisner, La., to Tom and Elva DuBell.
She completed her college education in Louisiana and taught for a short time there and in Idaho. She became a purchasing agent for the U.S. Air Force in Lake Charles, La., where she married Keith Robertson in 1955.
Mrs. Robertson moved to Winnemucca in 1961 then to Carson City in 1967. She worked in the Nevada State Legislature for several sessions as a committee secretary, eventually returning to the federal government and retired from the U.S. Geological Survey as a purchasing agent in 1997.
She joined the Carson City Ski Program as an instructor and remained in it for many years. She was a 35-year member of the Tuesday night bridge club. Upon retirement, she began golfing. She enjoyed visiting the ocean and walking the beaches, houseboating with friends, fishing and flying throughout the West and South with her husband in their small plane.
Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Pat and Penny; step-granddaughters Camlyn and Holly of Reno; grandson, Anthony of Carson City; son Bill of Corvallis, Ore.; brothers Ed of Jackson, Miss., and Tom of Palm Beach, Fla.; and sisters Thurla of Monroe, La. and Wilma of Katy, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
