Due to a scheduling conflict the Carson High girls tennis team received a preview of its first round zone playoff match on Tuesday.
Carson traveled to Damonte Ranch for a match on Thursday only to see that Fallon had also traveled to Damonte Ranch. So Carson ended up competing against players from Damonte Ranch and Fallon.
The results were encouraging for the Senators, who won most of their matches against Fallon. Carson (10-1), the Sierra League's No. 2 seed, will host Fallon, the High Desert League's No. 3 seed, on Tuesday.
Against Fallon, Natalie Rogers won 6-0 in singles and teamed with Emily Ortiz to win 6-0 in doubles. Staci Cobler and Jenae Jeppson won 6-3, 6-2 and Shannon Arnold and Ortiz won 6-3.
In singles, Kelsey Joyce won 6-2 and Simone Kuckenmeister won 6-3. Against Damonte Ranch, Kuckenmeister and Aaren Porteur won 6-2 in doubles and Greta Schnaser won 6-4 in singles.
"It should be an interesting match," said Carson coach Diane Baker about Tuesday. "We're looking forward to Tuesday."
