Dayton girls soccer beats Yerington

Sabrina Cantrell and Megan Foley scored goals to lead the Dayton High girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Yerington.


Cantrell scored in the first half off of Ashley Winter's assist and Foley scored on a free kick in the second half to give Dayton a 2-0 lead. Adela Montes scored on a breakaway for Yerington.


YERINGTON BOYS 4, DAYTON 3


Paul Simander scored the winning goal with 18 minutes left for Yerington boys soccer team to overcome the effort of Dayton's Jesse Gutierrez, who scored all three goals for Dayton.


Tony Portales scored in the first two minutes of the game for Yerington only to be answered by Gutierrez. After Rickey Contreras scored for the Lions, Gutierrez scored off of Randy Contreras' assist to tie the game 2-2.


Portales scored his second goal to give Yerington a 3-2 lead in the second half before Gutierrez scored to tie it. Servando Benitez made 14 saves for Dayton while Yerington's Jeffrey Fulstone posted nine saves.
