120 YEARS AGO

The bankrupt estate of J.C. Hagerman will be sold on the 29th instant. Less than three years ago he was considered one of the most solid businessmen in the state. His failure is attributed to political aspirations. Frank Fey, the post office burglar, is now confined in our jail here, awaiting trial before the U.S. District Court. He is believed to be an old and dangerous prison bird.

100 YEARS AGO

Runaway team driven by William Blackmore killed the driver, scattering groceries for a 1/2 mile near Tonopah. "Bill" Blackmore was one of the most famous drivers in the west. For years he drove one of Buffalo Bill's crack teams in the Wild West show, later stages to Bodie, Hawthorne and Candelaria.

70 YEARS AGO

Leisure Hour Club will present its Shakespearean Festival, given here last spring, to the Reno Twentieth Century Club. Mrs. W.H. Cavell and Mrs. Charles Priest arranged the program with the dances under Miss Genevieve Shoe.

50 YEARS AGO

An enthusiastic group met at the high school under Edwin H. "Bud" Miller, temporary chair, with Jean Smith temporary secretary to organize the Carson High Boosters Club.

20 YEARS AGO

Nearly $100 million in highway building sets a record with every major route and nearly every community affected, Nevada Department of Transportation reports.

10 YEARS AGO

Gov. Bob Miller was to introduce former Las Vegas television newsman Richard Urey as his new press secretary. Michael Campbell, now press secretary, moves to public information officer for the State Industrial Insurance System.
