Salvatore "Sammy" Vignone Jr., 75, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, died Oct. 19, 2003, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Boston to Salvatore S. and Antonetta Lochicchio Vignone.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Las Vegas for 17 years and for many years in Gloucester, Mass.
Mr. Vignone was a longshoreman. He loved playing cards with his family, playing pool and watching TV. He enjoyed going for walks, picnics and outdoor activities, including swimming.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ross in 1989.
Among his survivors are his wife of 49 years, Lois of Carson City; sons Samuel of Springdale, Ark., and Christopher M. of San Antonio, Texas; daughters Rosemarie Hefner of Minden and Anita Marie Raus of Sacramento; sisters Rosali Marino of Connecticut and Natalie Vido of Gloucester; and six grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
