Stagecoach fire under investigation

STAGECOACH - An investigation continued Wednesday into the cause of a fast- moving fire that destroyed a Stagecoach home.

Engines from Central Lyon, Storey County, Mason Valley and North Lyon County were called to the manufactured home at 8819 Cimarron Drive about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, said Amy Solaro, fire prevention specialist with Central Lyon County Fire District.

Within an hour the fire was contained, but not before the home was lost, she said.

"They've got a few things they might be able to salvage, but for the most part it was destroyed."

Solaro declined to release the names of the two residents until the investigation is completed.

The Red Cross arrived to aid the victims, Solaro said, but the couple opted to stay with friends.
