Elko scored two goals during a 13-minute span bridging the first and second halves to post a 2-0 non-league victory at home against Douglas on Saturday.
The Indians (3-0) took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 33rd minute and then made it 2-0 with a goal in the 46th minute.
Douglas goalkeeper Chase Zumpft had seven saves. Sweeper Justin Bunkleburg and midfielder Colten Mellows also played well for the Tigers, according to coach Phil Sheridan.
Douglas (2-2-1) plays again Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against Galena in Reno.
Also on Saturday, the Douglas JV played Elko to a 1-1 tie. Justin Grimm scored an unassisted goal in the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, but the Indians came back to score the equalizer in the second half.
Goalkeeper Steve Done had four saves and was aided by a defensive effort led by Nic Cohee and Seth Bartlett.
