A memorial service for Doris Jean Kanter, 66, of Gardnerville will be at noon Sunday at the office-clubhouse at 1330 Stodick Parkway in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Kanter died Sept. 13, 2003, at home. She was born June 26, 1937, in Mancos, Colo., to Melvin and Dora Goff Archer.
Mrs. Kanter was a homemaker. She was a die-hard NASCAR fan, and her favorite driver was Dale Ernhardt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris in 2001; daughter, Brenda Thurman in 1990; and brother John Black in 2002.
Among her survivors are her sons Alan Albright of Gardnerville and Mark Kanter of Portland, Ore.; and brothers James Archer of Silver Springs and Tom Archer of Lenora, N.C.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
