A memorial service for Lawrence Robert Prahl, 84, of Topaz Ranch Estates will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
Mr. Prahl died Sept. 16, 2003, at home. He was born on May 24, 1919, in Wausau, Wis., to Robert Richard and Ella Winters Prahl.
He married Vera M. Pokallus in 1943.
He moved to Wellington in 1979, coming from Torrance, Calif.
Mr. Prahl worked for Douglas Aircraft Co. for 22 years in Torrance, retiring in 1977.
Among his survivors are his wife, Vera of Wellington; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Laura of Long Beach, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Paulette and John Milzak of St. Louis, Darlene and Mel Landberg of Minden, Penny and Mario Mendoza of LaMirada, Calif., and Patti and Dave Smith of Dayton; brothers Wilbert of Waukesa, Wis., and Robert of Weston, Wis.; sisters Florence Blaher of Wausau and Margaret Lippke of Woodruff, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
