Mitey Mites win in youth football

Hunter Hand ran for two touchdowns and an extra point to lead the Carson Mitey Mites to a 20-14 win over the Reno Wildcats last Friday.

Hand scored on runs of 48 and six yards. D.J. Parker also scored on a 9-yard run and Corwin McIntosh ran for an extra point for Carson. Among the leaders on defense for Carson was Michael Samii. Carson will play at 6 p.m. this Friday against the Sparks Wolf Pack in Sparks.

RENO PANTHERS 13, JUNIOR PEE WEE BLUES 12

Two missed extra points were the difference in a close and well played game by both teams as the Carson Junior Pee Wee Blue fell to the Reno Panthers.

The Senators defense led by Michael Lowes, Austin Pacheco, Pat Craugh and Casey Foster came out hitting hard and forced a fumble on the Panthers first play. The Senators offense then marched down the field with the outstanding blocking of John Borges, Austin Buyak, Keegan Aiazzi, Shane Ahrens, Devin Harrill, Cody Metcalf and Donnie Kellie.

Runs by Colton Banta and Ricky McDonald set up the touchdown run by Dylan Sawyers. The Senators were unable to convert the extra point making the score 6D0.

The defense held the Panthers in check for most of the first half with great play from Tanner Laird, Shea Bondi, Javier Torres, Josh Peacock, Cody Hammond, and Lue Vang. The Panthers were only able to score once making it 6-6 at halftime.

The Panthers scored in the third quarter making to 13D6 but the defense stiffened behind Chris Johnson, Kevin Sperski, Austin Brown, Jeremy Walkama, Rod Calhoun and Willie McDonald.

The offense scored in the fourth quarter with an outstanding run by Dylan Sawyers in which he broke two tackles. Downfield blocking provided by Sam Hutchinson, Clint Page, Nick Garcia, Zack White, Nolan Truesdell, and Jim Wildenradt also contributed to the touchdown. The Senators were again unable to convert the extra point making the score 13D12 in favor of the Panthers.

The Senators face the Reno Jaguars on Friday at Governor's Field at 8 p.m.
