Kevin Dyer, Sean McKenna and Abby Niehoff have all had outstanding meets so far to lead a strong performance by the Carson Tigersharks in the Autumn Freeze swim meet.
In 11-12 girls, Niehoff has won all of her events so far during the first two days of the meet being held this weekend at the Carson Valley Swim Center. Niehoff improved her time in winning the 500-yard freestyle and also won the 100 butterfly, 100 individual medley, 200 free and 100 backstroke.
In 13-14 boys, McKenna has won the 500 and 200 freestyles and Dyer has won the 400 individual medley (five minutes, 20.21 seconds) and the 100 fly.
Dyer led a 1-2-3 finish for the Tigersharks in the 400 I.M. as Matt Grunert took second (5:27.1) and Sam Ballard placed third (5:52.26). In 15-18 boys for the Tigersharks, Kiel Costella won the 400 I.M. (4:41.7) and John Wandel took second (4:53.1).
The Tigersharks went 1-4 in the 13-14 girls 400 I.M.: Rebekah Niehoff (5:09.6), Barbara Perkins (5:19.9), Danielle Judge (5:40.9) and Tatum Boehnke (5:42.3).
Lauren Metcalf also won the 15-18 girls 400 I.M. (5:15.5). In their first swims, Tim Grunert and Alexandra Schlager turned in strong efforts in the 200 I.M. in the 9-10 age group. Lisa Yamamoto also had a strong time of 1:19.92 in the 9-10 girls 100 free.
