A memorial service for Dayton resident Philip V. Carter Jr., 69, will be at 10 a.m. April 17 at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mr. Carter died March 30, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Los Angeles to Philip V. Sr. and Elsa Dahlen Carter.
Prior to living in Dayton, Mr. Carter lived in Mound House, Minden and Las Vegas. He also lived in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Mr. Carter was a real estate developer and owned and operated the Stage Saloon in Mound House.
He was vice president of the Northern Nevada Development Association from 1984-87, president of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce from 1985-88 and president of the Western Nevada Development District from 1985-88.
Among his survivors are his sister Betty Phelps of Solvang, Calif.; son Philip Carter III of Tualatin, Ore.; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Mike Denson of Minden; grandchildren Matthew, Joshua and Medina Carter and Stephanie, Michele, Theo and Timothy Denson.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
