A funeral for Earl Edward Main, 77, a Silver Springs resident for 20 years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral.
A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Main died April 8, 2004, at home. He was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Phillip, S.D., to Avery and Ella Stewart Main.
Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived in McDermitt.
Mr. Main was a retired miner. He was also retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served for 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and wilderness, and he loved camping.
He was preceded in death by his son Paul in 2001.
Among his survivors are his wife of 52 years, Dorothy and daughter Rebecca Pluff, both of Silver Springs; daughters Kathy Stone of Council, Idaho, Patty Fisk of Caldwell, Idaho, Molly Houlden of Reno and Teresa Horse of Markleeville; son Vince Main of Boise, Idaho; brother, Chet of Pacific, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
