John Joseph Dutra, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, died April 12, 2004, at home. He was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Waterburg, Conn., to John and Rose Smith Miller.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Diego.
Mr. Dutra was a merchant seaman for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Among his survivors are his brother Frank of Carson City; and sister Rosemary Moffett of San Diego.
Inurnment will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
