Freshman Tisha Luken, just called up to the Douglas varsity squad last week, couldn't have picked a better time to collect her first varsity hit.

With the Tigers trailing 2-1 in the second game of a doubleheader against Reno at Lady Tiger Field, Luken singled to drive in two runs and put Douglas up for good in a 3-2 win.

Douglas (26-6, 8-0) swept the doubleheader, which matched up the top two teams in the Sierra League.

Kellei Kizer picked up the win, striking out eight and scattering six hits in seven innings.

Val Smith and Sam Willson drove in the Tigers' remaining two runs.

In game one, Stevie Smith drove in two runs and Brittany Puzey doubled to drive in a run as Douglas won 5-2. Val Smith led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3.

Puzey picked up the win, striking out 10, walking five and allowing one hit.

Reno dropped to 15-11 overall and 5-3 in Sierra League play.
