A man who drowned in Lake Tahoe on Saturday has been identified as Christopher Abeyrama, 29, of Rossmoor, Calif.
According to police, Abeyrama was in town for a convention with Citicorp when he and others jumped from a rented boat to swim in Lake Tahoe near Secret Harbor.
"Once he got so many yards from the boat, he began to struggle, and the others on the boat pulled him on board and attempted to do CPR," said Carson City Sheriff's Detective Cate Summers.
The boat brought Abeyrama to shore on Sand Harbor, where he was pronounced dead, Summers said.
She said friends have indicated Abeyrama was a good swimmer and owned a boat himself.
It's unclear if alcohol played a part in the drowning.
