William John Mitchell, 63, a Yerington resident for the past year, died July 22, 2004, at home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Oakland, Calif., to John and Lorraine Vail Mitchell. He attended schools in Walnut Creek, Calif., and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1958.
He married Lois Anne Beeston in 1960.
Mr. Mitchell worked in various positions in electronics, mechanical and research and development in the industrial settings around the Bay area. After moving to the Carson City area in 1973, he continued working in industrial and mining then worked for the Carson City Utilities Division as an electrical technician from 1989 to 2002 when he retired.
He enjoyed history and photography.
Among his survivors are his wife of Yerington; sons Harvey of Carson City and Herb of Anderson, Calif.; mother of Walnut Creek; sister, Nancy of Concord, Calif.; and cousins Ron Vail of Discovery Bay, Calif., and Steven Vail of Florida.
At his request, no service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
