A half pound of methamphetamine was taken off the streets Thursday in Douglas County by state narcotics agents.
A "short-term" undercover operation to purchase the meth by members of the Tri-Net Narcotic Task Force ended in the arrest of Mario Esquivias Velasco, 24, and Servando Ortiz Monroy, 19, said Tri-Net Lt. Scott Jackson.
Both men are charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. Esquivias Velasco was also charged with a felony Carson City warrant for drug offenses, Johnson said. His bail was set at $125,000. Ortiz Monroy is being held on $110,000. Both are from Carson City.
