A memorial service for Lucy Lobley, 63, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Lobley died July 30, 2004, at home. She was born Jan. 30, 1941, in Croghan, N.Y., to Leo and Mary Schack. She grew up in upstate New York.
She attended Mary Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown, N.Y.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Concord, Calif., for 10 years.
Mrs. Lobley worked as a registered nurse for 40 years and working at the Washoe Dialysis Clinic at the time of her death.
She was a member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Gall.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael in 2001.
Among her survivors are her husband, Bert Combos of Gardnerville; stepchildren Chris and Julie Combos of Gardnerville, Jeff Combos of Seattle, Randy and Wendy Volkmar of South Lake Tahoe and Steve and Kimberly Maxwell of Topaz; brothers and sisters Carl and Verna Schack and Theresa Schack and Joe Schack, all of Croghan, N.Y., Bernard and Genie, Tim and Lenna Schack of Kirkwood, Pa., and Bill and Mary Nennstiel of Weaverville, N.C.; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Combos of Los Olivos, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law Bernard and Ann Combos of Simi Valley, Calif., Robert and Willamenia Combos of Bakersfield, Calif., and Sandra Combos of Los Olivos; daughter and son-in-law Maureen and Shawn Hevener of San Diego; daughter Annamaria Lobley of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; son George Lobley of Reno; grandson, Joshua Lobley of San Diego; and granddaughter, Wendy Cook of Agoura, Calif.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
