A funeral for Donald R. Gatrell, 46, a Gardnerville resident for the past seven years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Walton's Douglas County Mortuary.
Mr. Gatrell died Aug. 9, 2004, in Jackson, Calif. He was born July 29, 1958, in Liberty, N.Y.
He graduated from high school in Concord, Calif.
He married Vickie Lee Osteen May 17, 2003, in Genoa.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Oakley, Calif., for 15 years.
Mr. Gatrell worked for the family rental business in Antioch, Calif., and later became a commercial truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and playing softball. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; sons Robert of Santa Rosa, Calif., Bryan of Oakley and Andrew of Gardnerville; daughter, Megan of Gardnerville; stepson, Shaun Osteen of Tulsa, Okla.; stepdaughter, Amy Payne of Gardnerville; parents Patrick and Joan Gatrell of Gardnerville and Beatrice and Vern Bloom of Napa, Calif.; sister, Barbara Schave of Napa; stepsister, Caryn Sponburgh of Carson City; brothers James of Napa and Jeffrey of Las Vegas; step-brothers Christopher Veatch of Fresno, Calif., and James Veatch of Lake Elizabeth, Calif.; grandson, Anthony and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
