VIRGINIA CITY - A monthlong drug investigation ended in the arrests of two Storey County residents and the seizure of $100,000 in marijuana, officials said Wednesday.

Skye Brix, 19, and James Ward, 48, were arrested Tuesday at 165 Willie Way in Mark Twain Estates. They were charged with suspicion of felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell, felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $8,632 each.

Members of the Tri-Net Drug Taskforce and the Storey County Sheriff's Department seized 108 marijuana plants ranging from adult plants to seedlings, said Kim Evans, public information officer for the Department of Public Safety.

"The marijuana was being grown in a fabricated room within a bedroom of the residence using fairly sophisticated growing equipment" she said.
