The stretch of Highway 50 between Spooner Summit and Stateline remained closed until about 9 p.m. Friday.
Crews worked through the day Friday to right a large drilling rig which overturned near Zephyr Point at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The road was closed to permit a large crane to move the drilling rig.
No one was injured when the retaining wall along the edge of the road collapsed under the weight of the drilling rig. The operator jumped clear. But a residence was seriously damaged by the rig's drilling tower.
