Lillie Whitefield Moore

A memorial service for Lillie Whitefield Moore, 79, a Stagecoach resident for the past 26 years, will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 1, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with a gathering to follow at Piñon Plaza.

Mrs. Moore died Aug. 21, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Swindon, England, to Arthur and Rosina Lydia Jackson Whitefield.

She graduated from high school and worked in airplane factories during World War II. She was a machinist for 20 years for Ben Parker Co. in Carson City. She enjoyed gardening, football and family occasions.

She married Aaron Moore May 29, 1945, in Swindon, England. He preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1992, in Hornbeck, La.

Before moving to Stagecoach, she lived in Fresno, Calif.

She served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and parents.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Susan Lawson of Stagecoach; sisters June Abbot, Iris Enevoldson and Chery Kelly and brothers Ted Whitefield and Len Whitefield, all of England; grandchildren Julie Kepler of Dayton, Wendy Sullivan of Reno and Kelly Lawson of Sparks; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews of England.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church for the prescription program for the needy.
