Frederick R. Bell

Frederick R. Bell, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, died Aug. 26, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 17, 1921, in Montebello, Calif., to Frederick R. and Winola LaMoore Bell.

He attended Pomona Junior College.

He married Mary Lou Newman July 24, 1943, in Phoenix.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Montebello; Port Orchard, Wash.; Pomona, Calif.; and Dayton.

Mr. Bell worked in accounting and as a controller for Hadley/Schwien Engineering for 50 years.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Pomona Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother Charles A.; and sister, Evelyn H. Ward.

Among his survivors are his wife of 61 years; son, Fred of Colfax, Wash.; daughter, Donna L. Todd of Carson City; brother Gene Daniels of Minden; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
