A funeral for Johnny Patrick Sciarini, 92, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's.
Mr. Sciarini died Aug. 28, 2004, at Evergreen/Ormsby Convalescent Hospital. He was born March 24, 1912, in Scotia, Calif., to Michael and Hazel Maine Sciarini.
Mr. Sciarini was a truck driver for the trucking/concrete industry. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Carson City Nugget. He was a Catholic.
He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the battle for Guadalcanal.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Adeline, on Aug. 13, 2002.
Among his survivors are his nephews Edward Stanbridge of Sparks, Melvin Stanbridge of McKinleyville, Calif., Matthew Reiser of Dallas and David Baker of California; great-nephew, John Serrao of Newark, Calif.; niece, Adeline Serrao of Newark; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
