LAS VEGAS - The FBI has sent more than 300 letters to politicians, developers and other people recorded on federal wiretaps made during a much-publicized political corruption investigation, authorities said.
The FBI made the wiretaps while investigating former and current county commissioners and strip club owner Mike Galardi.
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kevin Caudle told The Las Vegas Sun for Monday's editions that the investigation has become much wider than Galardi's relationship with the commissioners. "What we have so far is just the tip of the iceberg," he said. "I think that we'll see a lot (of new information) generated in the next six months."
So far, the probe has resulted in the indictments of Commissioner Mary Kincaid-Chauncey and former commissioners Lance Malone, Erin Kenny and Dario Herrera.
Caudle said the investigation is about more than strip clubs, "it's a case on the county Commission and what they were willing to sell their souls for."
