Margaret Edmundson, 57, died Nov. 4, 2004, of neurosarcoidosis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Al Edmundson.
She graduated from Carson High School in 1965 and the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in nursing in 1969, received a master's degree in nursing, maternal-child health from Emory University in 1972, and in 1977, was awarded a certificate of nurse-midwifery from State University of New York.
Mrs. Edmundson taught at the University of Colorado and Arizona State University and published numerous articles. Her greatest enjoyment was delivering babies. She and her colleague, Betty Jennings, were pioneer nurse-midwives in Colorado in the 1970s.
Among her survivors are her husband, William E. "Bill" Armstrong; son, Spencer; stepsons Bill Jr. and Brian; granddaughters Makay and Skyelar; mother, Mabel Edmundson; sisters Mary Gomez, Martha Edmundson and Minnie Inzer Muniz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held in Denver.
