LAKE TAHOE - A 26-year-old Carson City man died after a car accident along Highway 50 West near Cave Rock on Wednesday, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Andrew Fulmer died at 10 a.m. at Washoe Medical Center from injuries he suffered when his car rolled over at 1:06 that morning. Fulmer was the driver and lone occupant of a blue Isuzu, which was eastbound when it drifted toward the edge.

He was taken by a Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center where he was initially listed in critical condition.

"(Fulmer) overcorrected the vehicle several times, striking a metal roadway sign and metal paddle marker before the vehicle overturned," said Trooper Nick Nordyke.

The Isuzu ended up on its right side on the westbound lanes.

Trooper Todd Hartline said authorities don't know if alcohol was a factor. Fulmer was wearing his seat belt.

"Right now it appears that he was asleep," Hartline said.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking information from anybody who has information on the crash and is asking them to call 688-2500.
