Crosstumblers shine at event

Carson City's Crosstumblers Gymnastics boys team did extremely well at the Eyeopener Invitational recently hosted by High Sierra Gymnastics in Reno.


The Level 4 team was led by 7-year-old Kody Crooks, who took first place in the 6-7 year old age group on rings with a score of 9.2. Crooks also placed second on high bar (8.7), fifth on vault (8.9), sixth on parallel bars (7.85) and fifth in the all-around.


Also competing in the 6-7 year old age group was Ryan Walker in his first ever competition. Walker received 14th in the all-around and was ninth in rings (8.4) and vault (8.6).


In the 10 year old division, Donovan Maholland received 10th on pommel horse and vault and 12th in the all-around.


The boys' level 4 team works out four hours each week at Crosstumblers Gymnastics. The team will next be competing at the Hilton Invitational in February where it will be joined by teammate Malik DePasquale.
