The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Matthew Stearns, a 27-year-old man of unknown employment from Carson City was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Winnie Lane on suspicion of felony child abuse. Bail was set at $40,000.

• Kelly Bennett Whittington, a 41-year-old retail worker from Carson City, was arrested at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Jacks Valley Road on a felony warrant for embezzlement. Bail was set at $50,000.

• A 29-year-old Carson City woman of unknown employment was arrested at 2 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. Bail was set at $500.

• A 19-year-old maintenance man from Carson City was arrested at 2:15 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of David Street on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.

• A 33-year-old cardiac technician from Carson City was arrested at 5:08 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of East Musser Street on misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. Bail was set at $3,000.

• A 57-year-old homemaker from Carson City was arrested at 7:22 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Pebbleridge Drive on two counts of suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $6,264.

• A 49-year-old Carson City woman of unknown employment was arrested at 10:14 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of East Roland Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor misuse of 911 and obstructing a peace officer. Bail was set at $3,064.

• Alida Lynn Dittus, a 30-year-old Carson City of unknown employment, was arrested at 4:11 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of felony using a false ID to avoid prosecution and a misdemeanor warrant for criminal contempt. Bail was set at $10,500.
