A funeral for Eric Carsten Hansen Jr., 53, a Gardnerville resident for the past four years, will be at noon Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Mr. Hansen died Jan. 31, 2004, at Carson Valley Medical Center. He was born Jan. 15, 1951, in California to Eric Carsten Sr. and Betty Jane Mikesell Hansen.
He graduated from Skyline High School in 1969 in California's Bay area.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived at Lake Tahoe.
Mr. Hansen worked in the hotel industry for many years and for the Carson Valley Inn for eight years. He was one of the founding members of High Mountain Anglers at Lake Tahoe. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Dana Grant.
Among his survivors are his wife, Sandra of Gardnerville; daughters Amanda and Candace Hansen of Gardnerville, Dulcina Hansen-Villevieille of San Francisco; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Darryl Peters of Ripon, Calif.; mother-in-law, Maxine Grant-Loorz of Oakland, Calif., and grandchildren Dyllan Ray Peters, Carly Peters, Spencer Hansen-Mukomela and Markcus DeWolf.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
