A celebration of life for Kathleen Louise Nichols, 64, a Gardnerville resident for the past two years, will be at noon Feb. 28 at the Lakeside Inn in Stateline.
Mrs. Nichols died Feb. 7, 2004, in Gardnerville of cancer. She was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Glendale, Calif., to Ronald and Lennis McLain Harris.
She graduated from high school in Glendale. She received a bachelor's degree in education from San Jose State University and a master's degree in counseling from Chapman College.
She married Robert Nichols Aug. 7, 1982, in Stateline.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Stateline for 22 years.
Mrs. Nichols taught school on many levels. Her last assignment was principal of Leona Valley High School in Lancaster, Calif. She was a saleswoman for 16 years then relocated to Lake Tahoe, where she was casino administrator for the Lakeside Inn and Casino. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star's Lancaster Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Anne Calhoun of Ventura, Calif.; sister, Nancy Judd of Alpine, Utah; brother, Tim Harris of Lovell, Wyo.; two grandchildren; cousin, Verda Ann Olson; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
